Safety Improvements & More Features Add To The New Datsun

New Datsun GO

The 2019 Datsun GO

For more than 4 years the Datsun GO and its model derivatives have been some of the most affordable vehicles sold in South Africa, but now thanks to some serious upgrades incredible pricing is no longer this cars only virtue!

Gone is the lack of extensive comfort and convenience features (the standard specs are now rather impressive), and let’s not forget that the first iteration of the GO had very little in the way of safety equipment. Today in 2019 however, the Datsun GO is a serious contender for the best value for money car in South Africa, and with some improved safety features now standard across almost the entire range there is a good chance it will become the “GO to car” for an entire generation of young mobile and style conscious South Africans.

Safety Improvements

ABS has made the GO into a much better vehicle when it comes to safety and handling, and is available in both the entry-level “Mid” and top-spec “Lux” variants, with the added benefit of airbags now standard across the entire range. Additionally, these safety improvements are applicable to the GO+ MPV and Panel Van as well.

To top it all off, from mid-2019, Datsun South Africa has announced that there will also be stability control added as a safety feature. This will incredibly make the GO one of the safest vehicles in its class!

Better Styling

We South Africans like to look good on the road; so there should be no surprise surrounding the fact that the New 2019 Datsun GO has had a massive makeover in the looks department. There is now a new more aggressive looking front grille, and the bumper on both ends has had some drastic visual improvements made to it. Add to this some larger wheels, which have improved the overall stance of the GO, and you have a sure-fire winner in the style department! The addition of some new cheerful colour options has also brightened the choices of potential Datsun Go buyers.

There is also an even bigger range of accessories to choose from, with stickers, spoilers and 15-inch wheels just some of the many personalisation options which are available.

A New Cabin (with vastly improved features)

There is now a new dashboard, as well as two individual seats (thankfully the bench seat of the original GO is a thing of the past). This has now opened up space for a centre console with two cup holders, which are rather convenient for those morning commute coffees. There is even a touch-screen infotainment system complete with a USB port, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and this is standard across the ENTIRE range!

Other standard features now include air-con, electric power steering, four (yes, you read that correctly) electric windows, electric mirror adjustment, remote central locking, and even rear parking sensors.

And the Verdict?

Better safety, more style and improved comfort and convenience levels and all at an affordable price! There is literally no downside to owning the new 2019 Datsun Go that we can think of. In fact, we have only one more thing to add – Good GOing Datsun!
