Believe it or not, they are all used to test and sell Nissan’s range of crossover vehicles, from the Nissan Qashqai to the Nissan Juke. It kind of makes sense seeing as the crossover range is placed is a unique segment of the market and looks so different that they would need to have tests that are just as unique and different.
Some of these tests seem to push the limits of the imagination and the vehicles. Take the speakers in your crossover. While the kids would love nothing more than to listen to their music at full blast, it is not something that any sane person would want to do for four years running. Unless you are Nissan. They test the speakers by pumping German House Music to test the bass and then switch it up to Mariah Carey for the high notes at full blast for 1,200 days. We just wonder what happens to the poor test engineers that have to sit through it for those four years…
Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night and wondered what would happen if a bear where to jump on the glass roof of your Nissan Crossover? Don’t worry and go back to sleep! According to tests done by dropping weights on top of Nissan crossovers, the glass roof is strong enough for a bear to stand on it. Phew!
Some people might be worried that the rise of the machines might mean that they will take over the world, but what about taking over the car door? Nissan has special robots whose sole purpose in life is to open and close the door of a crossover 30 000 times. And you thought your job got repetitive. Other wildly repetitive tests include twenty days worth of tests on the windscreen wipers to ensure that they function perfectly under all conditions. Considering the tests on the speakers, we wouldn’t be surprised if this test included a rain of fish in addition to the standard rain, snow and hail.
These tests might sound a little silly, but they are all part of a greater process to ensure that when you buy a vehicle from a Nissan dealer, you are getting the highest quality vehicle.Besides if nothing else they make for great stories around the braai!
