Infiniti, the luxury vehicle division owned by Japanese automaker Nissan, has officially unveiled the all-new QX80 at the 2024 New York Auto Show, as the preview model for the next-generation Patrol. So what’s all the fuss about? We take a look at what exciting features the refined QX80 offers.
A Muscular Modern Design
The most notable update to the QX80 2025 is its sleek design and retractable door handles. Its sculptured bodyline and alloy wheels (between 20 and 22 inches) give it a muscular yet modern appearance.

The model’s lighting signature is also a standout feature as well as the SUV’s oversized grille with integrated headlights and vertical slates – supposedly inspired by the shape of bamboo. At the rear, the light forms a horizontal strip that runs the vehicle’s width, featuring 300 LEDs.
Under The Hood
The Infiniti QX80 commands the road with the previous 5.6L V8 now replaced by a twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6, which comes with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Setting the QX80 apart is its sophisticated all-wheel-drive system complemented by the innovative Dynamic Digital Suspension. This cutting-edge air suspension leverages a network of sensors to continuously monitor the vehicle’s motion, promptly adapting to minimise body roll and enhance handling dynamics, ensuring a remarkably composed and confident ride.

Designed to cater to diverse driving scenarios, the QX80 offers six distinct settings: Eco, Standard, Sport, Tow for effortless hauling capabilities, and Personal, which allows drivers to customise the driving experience to their preferences.
On The Inside
Inside, the QX80’s luxurious cabin receives a comprehensive redesign with higher-quality materials, a more contemporary layout, and the latest tech features.
Highlights include a 14.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch centre touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, and a Bose audio system. Second-row captain’s chairs and a panoramic moonroof enhance the premium experience.

The QX80 offers Biometric Climate Control, meaning it can sense everyone’s body temperature and then individually adjust each air vent to the right temperature. The seats, in the first and second rows have power adjust, cooling, heating and a massage function. The third-row seats also fold forward to provide a much bigger cargo area.
Available advanced driver aids comprise Nissan’s latest ProPilot 2.1 system enabling hands-free driving on compatible roads. Infiniti’s Hydraulic Body Motion Control promises smooth and level handling over undulating surfaces.
While official details on pricing and availability have yet to be announced, the 2024 Infiniti QX80 looks to be an ultra-luxurious and skilful new take on the mighty Nissan Patrol formula.
