While drifting might not be everybody’s cup of tea, there is no doubt that it is one of the most thrilling on precision motorsports, and now thanks to the superior design of the Nissan Z, Nissan has broken another world record in the drifting world.
This breathtaking record was broken as part of the launch of the ‘Nissan 370Z Drift Experience’ which seeks to educate and teach people about the art of drifting. The two Nissan Z vehicles drifted continuously for 28.52 kilometers without stopping around a figure of eight track.
According to Samir Cherfan, MD at Nissan Middle East, “With today’s accomplishment of setting a new Guinness World Records title, we have proven again the strength of our vehicles by adding another Guinness World Records record to our list. The Nissan Z is a very popular car in the drifting scene, and this new record is yet another proof on the ability of this car to make drifting look so easy.”
The Nissan 370Z Drift Experience is a collaboration between Nissan Middle East and the Prodrift Academy and aims to highlight the ease of use of the Nissan Z when it comes to drifting. The Prodrift Academy not only provides a legal and safe environment for drifting enthusiasts to explore and enhance their skills, but they also provide professional drift instructors and a safe and controlled environment.
While drifting is still looked down upon by many aspects of society for its association with illegal street racing, it is becoming more respected thanks to more access to academies and controlled environments such as the Prodrift Academy.
