Exciting news, folks! Nissan recently unveiled its second fully electric SUV concept, the Hyper Adventure, at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show. This digital-only concept is tailor-made for those who relish outdoor adventures and an eco-friendly lifestyle. Here’s what we know about this inspired concept vehicle so far:
Versatility for Outdoor Enthusiasts
Whether you’re planning a camping trip in the forest or embarking on a snowy ski adventure, this electric vehicle is designed to serve as both a capable mode of transport and a comfortable base camp for your expedition. While Nissan has yet to provide full specifications, they have revealed that the Hyper Adventure features all-wheel drive and wheel crampons for enhanced traction. It is equipped with a large-capacity battery capable of powering the vehicle, various equipment, and even the grid, thanks to its vehicle-to-everything charging technology.

Nissan didn’t disclose the full specifications of the concept but mentioned that the “large-capacity battery doubles as an energy source, allowing users to power up their gadgets, light up campsites, or even recharge their electric jet skis.” Thanks to V2X (vehicle-to-everything) technology, the vehicle’s battery can power homes (V2H) or contribute to the grid (V2G). As for the electric motors, the concept was envisioned with Nissan’s e-4ORCE all-wheel-control system, similar to the one used by the production Ariya.

The exterior of the Hyper Adventure embraces an evolved version of Nissan’s distinctive styling language. It ditches the V-motion grille in favour of complex LED headlights. The bumpers, side skirts, and futuristic alloy wheels draw inspiration from mountaineering boots, featuring “crampons” for added grip. The glass roof seamlessly merges with the side windows to enhance aerodynamics. A digital panel at the base of the windshield can display various messages, adding a further touch of modernity.
Innovative Spatial Design Elements
The front of the vehicle sports conventional doors, while gullwing rear doors open dramatically, granting easy access to the cabin without the hindrance of B-pillars. The standout feature of this concept is the rear bench, which can rotate 180 degrees, transforming the boot into a comfortable seating area. Coupled with a spacious tailgate and automatically retractable steps, it’s an ideal spot to enjoy scenic views or gear up for your outdoor adventures.

According to Nissan, the Hyper Adventure offers ample space to accommodate outdoor equipment like tents, skis, or a kayak.
The Hyper Adventure is currently on digital display at the Japan Mobility Show 2023, alongside the Hyper Urban and possibly other EV concepts by Nissan. While this model isn’t intended for production, it wouldn’t be surprising if the next-gen Qashqai incorporates some of its styling features. However, this model is still years away, as the current generation of the compact SUV is due for an upgrade fairly soon.
