We all know that the Nissan Qashqai is a powerful vehicle and now it has picked up the award to prove it. This year the all-new Nissan Qashqai 1.6 dCi has been named as the overall winner at the Tow Car Awards 2014.
The all-new Qashqai, which was released internationally earlier this year and is now available in South Africa, has once again redefined the crossover market that it has come to epitomise. Now with its title as Overall Winner, the Qashqai has firmly cemented its position as one of the best crossovers in the world and definitely the car of choice for anybody who enjoys caravaning or those who tow regularly.
David Motton, Tow Car Editor at Practical Caravan, said: ‘It didn’t take long behind the wheel to discover that the Qashqai has what it takes as a tow car…the Qashqai’s towing ability, practicality and build quality make it the stand-out tow car champion of 2014’.
It isn’t just the all-new Qashqai towing capacity of 1 800kgs when braked – this is an increase of around 400kgs on the previous generation – that impressed the judges at the competition, it was also the Qashqai’s stability at speed. The Qashqai also stood out because of its massive 430-litre boot. The judges stated that the Qashqai’s “unflustered approach to towing puts the driver at ease. Long journeys towing with the Nissan should be hassle-free.”
The judges were comprised of members from Camping and Caravanning Club, Practical Caravan and What Car?. Overall 56 popular cars were tested for their towing capability with the Qashqai being the clear winner amid stiff competition.
The all-new Qashqai features state of the art technologies and a stunning interior trim that matches its sleek and sophisticated exterior design.
