Dominating the current round of Euro NCAP crash tests was the all-new Nissan X-Trail. Awarded five out of five stars, the Nissan X-Trail earned top marks in the sports utility class. The off-road Nissan X-Trail is both a safe family car and well-suited for an active outdoor lifestyle.
Euro NCAP crash testing ensures that buyers purchase a car that will protect the driver and their family. The Nissan X-Trail’s safety features includes: dual front SRS and dual side airbags, head-protecting curtain airbags, ABS brakes for a safer drive, vehicle dynamic control, blind spot and lane departure warning, moving object detection and electronic brake distribution. Seat belts have been specifically designed to protect occupants in case of a frontal impact with a standard seatbelt reminder.
New X-Trail enhancements include Active Ride Control (ARC), Active Engine Brake (AEB) and Active Trace Control (ATC). ARC detects bumps, improving comfort levels by levelling out the tracks and automatically applying braking. AEB works to improve engine braking when slowing down in corners or stopping. ATC helps prevent understeering especially on in corners or on slippery roads. The model is fitted with four cameras for a 360° view, including a rear-view camera.
Additionally, the Nissan Safety Shield is a comprehensive feature that focuses on three areas: checking the vehicle’s systems, assistance in handling unexpected situations and helping keep you safe in the case of an accident.
With respect to child and adult safety, the Nissan X-Trail scored its maximum points. It also scored high points in the front offset and side pole and side car crash test performance. While the Nissan X-Trail focuses on safety, the new model also incorporates the latest technology for ultimate driving and media experience.
Nissan has a track record of manufacturing refined cars that are both safe off-road and on the road. The Nissan Qashqai model also achieved a 5-star Euro NCAP rating with the highest scoring results in over 10 years. Until the Qashqai, no other car had received 36.56 out of 37 points.
Test drive a Nissan X-Trail for an adventure-ready performance packed with possibilities.
