What is the difference between CVT, Automatic Transmission and Dual-Clutch?
The continuously variable transmission, or CVT for short, does not have fixed gear ratios. This means that unlike a traditional automatic gear setup, the CVT has a two-pulley adjustable system that allows for an infinite number of gear ratios, all of which can be set at small increments. A Dual-Clutch Transmission, on the other hand, consists of a computer operated manual transmission system that controls two clutches – one for the transmissions odd gears and one for the transmissions even gears!
