Nissan Boot Sizes Explained
Vehicle boots come in many shapes and sizes, but it is not always easy to understand exactly how the size of a boot will suit your travelling needs. A good place to start is the fact that in most countries boot sizes are measured in litres. Added to this, the average size of a small vehicle’s boot is 300 litres. Understanding this is a good starting point!
Now we can take a look at vehicle classes and how the size of a boot is influenced by the type of car you are looking to purchase.
So Which Cars Have The Biggest Boots?
Generally the bigger the car or vehicle the bigger the boot size. We’ll take a look at how this plays out below:
City Cars: These small cars have small boots, so although they are, as their name implies, great for urban driving they are not always that good if you’re looking for big boot space.
Family Cars: This is where the size of a boot generally starts to look better. Boot sizes start at around 300 litres in this vehicle class and can even go up to a generous 600 litres.
Executive Cars: If you need space for those golf clubs as well luggage then you’ll be happy to know that these vehicles tend to have a boot space of between 400 and just over 600 litres.
Estate Cars: If you’re looking for big boot sizes this is where you start, as the average boot size here is 500+ litres!
Compact SUVs: 400 litres is the average size in this vehicle class, but certain models of vehicles can go much higher. Fold the rear seats down and you will easily boost the boot size dramatically.
Large SUVs: Because of their size you get some very impressive boot sizes which can range between 500 and just over 800 litres!
MPVs and LCVs: Although boot size is a bit of a misnomer here, for comparison purposes the average is generally between 700 and 3200 litres, depending on the vehicle this can sometimes even be greater than this!
