Nissan GT-R Specs
The iconic Nissan GT-R is powered by the renowned VR38DETT engine which is a 3,799 cc (3.8 L; 231.8 cu in) DOHC V6 that has plasma transferred wire arc sprayed bores. It also has two parallel Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries (IHI) turbochargers that provide forced induction to what is already a very, very powerful engine. All production models produce an engine output of 530 PS (390 kW; 520 hp) at 6400 rpm and 612 N•m (451 ft•lbf) at 3200-6200 rpm, (632 N•m (466 ft•lbf) with high-gear ‘boost’ on SpecV only). The Nissan GT-R has a curb weight of 1,730 kg (3,800 lb) or 1,736 kg (3,830 lb) if the side curtain airbags option is included. This low weight is achieved by using a jig welded steel chassis with aluminium in the hood, boot, and doors. The GT-R is also extremely powerful thanks to the rear mounted six-speed BorgWarner designed dual clutch semi-automatic transmission that is custom built by Aichi Machine Industry. This, in conjunction with the ATTESA E-TS system, is used to provide power to all four wheels. Nissan’s very own Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC-R) system is also employed to aid in vehicle stability during the driving process. Three shift modes can also be selected for various driving conditions.
