300,000 Datsun Vehicles Sold Globally
Datsun enthusiasts, assemble! We’ve got some exciting news. Datsun has just surpassed the 300 000-unit milestone (that’s sold, not manufactured) since our first 21-century vehicle, the Datsun GO, was launched in India in March 2014. Can we hear a hearty round of applause for our passionate team of auto designers who has their collective finger on the pulse of our dynamic clientele? There are few other automakers out there who can boast the such a talented group of visionaries on their team.
Jose Roman, corporate vice president and global head of Datsun, said that while the four preceding years may be a very short period to celebrate in the history of the car brand, they are nevertheless very proud of the solid foundation they have laid for future growth. This is certainly true in South Africa, where 18 900+ Datsun cars have made their way off showroom floors since it was first made available to the motoring public in October 2014. Exciting developments are also afoot with a new addition to the current lineup and a footprint expansion into Zimbabwe in the pipeline.
Roman further states that it their belief that great brands are not built by companies but by the people who build the cars, drive the cars and those who make the ownership experience a rewarding one. It is this dedication to create hard-working, cost-effective cars for a thriving motoring public that has lead to the five new models that has seen the light of day since 2014.
