A car as revolutionary as the Nissan LEAF is famous for moving the automotive industry forward is famous also famous for being backward… Well, going backward at least. Nissan got professional stunt driver Terry Grant (The same guy who holds the world record for driving on two wheels in a Nissan Juke) to drive the Nissan LEAF through the 1.16-mile Goodwood hillclimb course at the Goodwood Festival of Speed to set the world record.

The reason why the Nissan LEAF is so quick around the track in reverse is thanks to its gearing. Unlike an internal combustion engine that non-electric cars have, if you remove the limiter on the reverse gear in an electric car it can go as fast backwards as forwards.
The Nissan LEAF has risen to world fame as the best selling electric vehicle with more than 100 000 already sold around the world.
