With its exemption from having to pay London’s Congestion Charge the Nissan LEAF is proving to be a cost cutting urban driving option…
Vehicle prices have increased globally over the past few years, but the Nissan LEAF is bucking that trend thanks to the fact that it is now built and produced in the UK. This means that it’s price has now come down if you are living in the British Isles, ensuring that it is even more appealing to the average man in the street, even more so if you live in London…
Nissan LEAF Is Exempt from Congestion Charges
The Nissan LEAF is exempt from paying the Central London Congestion Charge, even though the Greener Vehicle Discount (GVD) has been scrapped. If you’re still not convinced that the LEAF is a good buy when living in the UK (and London specifically), then take a look at its monthly repayment price of £189. This price is actually less than the cost of four weeks’ Congestion Charge payments for London, making the Nissan LEAF a VERY economical London driving option.
As an added bonus, the Nissan LEAF only costs 2 pence per mile to charge and you can travel for 500 miles on a full charge. This means that you can travel more for less than a single day’s London Congestion Charge payment.
Nissan UK Sales Director, Jon Pollock had this to say about the Nissan LEAF’s improved pricing: “The changes to the London Congestion Charge introduced today clearly make the Nissan LEAF the number one option for motorists who regularly drive into central London. Importantly though, the LEAF is not a compromise. It’s a practical everyday family car that can come with everything from a state-of-the-art sound system to leather seats. It’s great fun to drive too.”
