The Nissan Daring Africa 2024 expedition is a testament to the brand’s deep-rooted African heritage and its long-standing commitment to the continent. As the only automotive manufacturer to boast wholly-owned manufacturing plants in both Egypt and South Africa, Nissan’s presence in Africa spans more than six decades, a remarkable feat that underscores its unwavering dedication to the region.

From the Rosslyn plant, which serves as the company’s Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) manufacturing hub for the entire African continent, to the Cairo facility, which is Nissan’s passenger vehicle assembly centre, the Japanese automotive giant has been at the forefront of vehicle production in Africa for generations.

By embarking on this daring journey, Nissan not only showcases the capabilities of its vehicles but also pays homage to the rich tapestry of cultures, landscapes, and communities that make Africa truly remarkable.

The rugged Nissan Navara is the chosen vehicle to take on the 7,000km of tough African terrain.

Nissan Africa marketing director Stefan Haasbroek says that the expedition is also a wonderful showcase for the Navara.

“Our all-new Nissan Navara, the best pick-up we have ever made, is built of more: it has a reinforced chassis, the suspension is different and the rollover angle is the best in the market. It is the perfect vehicle to continue Nissan’s strong pick-up legacy in South Africa.”
