NV200 Combi – Bringing the “B” in “from A to B” closer to you

Nissan NV200 Combi – best fuel efficiency on the market

It’s not as simple as getting you from A to B anymore. For starters, it’s no longer just you, is it? The spouse, the kids (the kids’ bicycles), the family Saint Bernard… Vacation time is just around the corner and it’s all up to you. And the more you crunch the numbers, the further away from B (that beautiful seaside resort you found online) gets. You keep browsing and you keep crunching and eventually conclude it would be more cost effective to dig your own pool in the backyard and camp out. Sound familiar? There is a solution. Say hello to the Nissan NV200 Combi.

It’s a very simple equation: the larger and heavier the vehicle, the faster your hard earned cash disappears down the fuel tank’s hungry gullet. Right? Wrong! The NV200 grosses just under 2 tonnes and measures 4400mm from grill to towbar. It houses seven seats in three rows, the last two of which can fold away, if needed, to increase the available load space from 2.3 square metres (with five seats) to 3.1 square metres (with two seats) and can comfortably handle a payload of more than 650kg. Normally, at this point, you’ve put two and two together and come up with your remaining holiday budget: zero. Not with the NV200.

Despite the 1.6-litre petrol engine’s more than the respectable output of 153Nm of torque at 4400rpm and the 81kW worth of power at 6000rpm, the NV200 averages 100km on a miserly 7.3 litres. A feat worthy of Ebenezer Scrooge and enough to put the NV200 ahead of every other people carrier on the market.

But if you really want to get down to business (or that seaside resort) have a look at the 1.5-litre diesel. Packing 200Nm of torque at a low 1750rpm and maxing 66kW of power at 4000rmp, you save on fuel without compromising on performance. No humbug, the 1.5-litre diesel averages 100km on a ridiculously low 5.1 litres. That’s right, a betterment of almost 30% on the already miraculous fuel efficiency of the petrol model.

And the best thing about the NV200? Not only is the cost of ownership imminently agreeable but it is also the most competitively priced people carrier on the market. Are you smelling the salty sea breeze yet? Go on, bring B closer to you. Test drive the Nissan NV200 today.
